There is a real need for specialized daycare in the Des Moines area for fragile newborns after discharge from the NICU.  Frequent hand washing, cover aprons when holding babies and other practices helps to prevent the spread of germs to keep these babies healthy during their first year of life.  Our low child to caregiver ratio gives these special infants the care and attention they need to thrive and grow.

I have always loved children, especially newborn and infants, and went to nursing school to work with babies.  After observing newborn behavior for 16 years as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, I have come to realize that babies have their own language.  By carefully observing them you can tell hunger from irritability, pain from agitation, contentment from sleepiness, overtired from overstimulation, etc.  Babies are also born with different temperaments, or personality traits, and it is our job as caregivers to work with each baby as an individual..
